Students will be assessed on their oral, aural, written and reading skills. The course will increase students’ fluency and cultural competency as well as prepare them for the AP Spanish Language & Culture course the following school year. Prerequisites: Honors 西班牙三 or equivalent, teacher recommendation and/or placement test.
Tristan 威尔逊 is from neighboring Boalsburg, Pennsylvania and a recent graduate of Juniata College, class of 2017. He graduated with dual degrees in International Studies and Hispanic Language & Culture and a secondary emphasis in French. Tristan is a strong advocate of the total immersion approach in secondary language instruction. Upon graduating from State College Area High School he completed a Rotary International Youth Exchange in Osorno, Chile. There Tristan attended Lycée Claude Gay, an Alliance Française school and seldom spoke 英语 for nine months. The next logical step was studying French at Juniata College where Tristan developed a fascination for Romance Languages and took intensive Portuguese during the summer semester at Penn State University. Studying abroad has been formative to his personal, academic and professional development. At Juniata College 特里斯坦 studied abroad for two consecutive semesters in Seville, Spain and Paris, France. He enjoys running with his dog, pick-up basketball, skiing, good books, cooking, and singing in choir.
